Robinson swaps Bristol for Cardiff

With Sam Warburton, Ellis Jenkins and James Botham all currently sidelined, Robinson has been brought in to provide cover on the flank.

The 26-year-old has notched up 55 appearances for the Championship outfit but opportunities have been limited so far this season.

Robinson, the son of former England and Scotland head coach Andy, has already linked up with the Blues and is available for selection.

Meanwhile, another Bristol player Thretton Palamo will join fellow PRO14 outfit Newport Gwent Dragons on short-term deals until November.

Commenting on the duo's short-term loan deal, Bristol head coach Pat Lam said: "I had a call from good friends Danny Wilson and Bernard Jackman requesting the players," adding: "with a huge amount of competition in the back row and midfield, we felt it beneficial for the pair to go out on loan,"

"It’s really positive for the guys that they go and get some quality game-time.

We’ll be monitoring their performances closely and they can be recalled to us at any time before the end of the agreement, should Bristol Rugby require it,"
