Cassiem out of year-end tour

Loose forward Uzair Cassiem will miss the year-end tour through injury.

It was confirmed on Monday that Cassiem will miss the Springboks' year-end tour - following a rib fracture he suffered midway through the 27-all draw with Australia in Bloemfontein at the weekend.

Cassiem will be sidelined for six weeks, with the Boks schedule to open their year-end tour against Ireland in Dublin on November 11.

He is the third high-profile lose forward to be ruled out through injury - with Jaco Kriel ruled out for the rest of the year after undergoing shoulder surgery and regular captain Warren Whiteley has been sidelined since June with a groin injury.

Whiteley could possibly recover in time for the year-end tour.

* Meanwhile Wilco Louw, Dan du Preez, Sibusiso Nkosi and Raymond Rhule rejoined the Boks in Cape Town on Monday - ahead of their final Rugby Championship Test, against New Zealand at Newlands this coming Saturday.

The Boks, after two comfortable wins over the hapless Argentineans, have slumped to two draws (23-all in Perth and 27-all in Bloemfontein) against the Wallabies, while they also suffered a record 0-57 loss to the All Blacks.
