Blitzboks keen to get started in Hong Kong

Blitzboks captain, Kyle Brown, on Thursday said that the team is confident in their structures and that they go into the seventh tournament of the series with the aim to win the title at the Cathay Hong Kong showdown that kicks off on Friday.

“Even if we play on a grass patch 50 kilometres outside of Hong Kong with only two people watching, we would still like to win the tournament,” said Brown.

Meanwhile, Springbok Sevens coach, Neil Powell, is happy with the intensity in training shown by his squad before the kick-off of the event, where the Blitzboks will face England (14.50 SA time) on Friday and Russia (07.40) and Scotland (11.54) on Saturday.

The players have shrugged off any form of jet-lag and Powell was pleased to see the positive attitude in training.

“The guys showed good intensity and that is always a good sign,”.
