Perth SVNS, Day Three - Women, Historic win by Ireland
WRAP: Welcome to our coverage of the women's matches on Day Three of the Perth SVNS, Round Three of the World Series.
Ireland secured their first series title on the HSBC Series by edging Australia in the final. Australia stretched their lead on the series log.
Great Britain gets the Bronze medal as they beat the United States.

Final
Ireland 19 vs 14 Australia
The game got off to a nervy start for the Australians as the kick-off went straight into touch but recuperated nicely as they scored the first try through their captain CHARLOTTE CASLICK
Ireland then scored a breakaway try through AMEE LEIGH MURPHY CROWE.
The last few minutes of the half was a tussle as Ireland threw everything at the Aussies putting them under pressure and the Australian captain got sent off with a yellow card.
LUCY MULHALL scored at the end of the half for Ireland to take the lead (14-7).
Australia looked a bit better with ball in hand after the break and TEAGAN LEVI scores.
EVE HIGGINS scored one more try at the end for Ireland to take the Gold as they break a 29 losing streak to Australia and record a first ever series title.
Third-place play-off
Great Britain 24 - 10 United States
GB was absolutely critical in this Bronze medal match up, scoring 4 unanswered tries before allowing the US to score with 2minutes left on the clock. For a moment it seemed as if GB could not do any thing wrong but then they took their foot off the pedal.
The Americans managed to score two consolation tries in the end but it was too little too late for them.
Great Britain takes the Bronze Medal!
Fifth-place play-off
France 12 - 14 New Zealand
It was a tough battle for the fifth place points as France got off to a solid start, scoring two tries (CAMILLE GRASSINEAU & CAROLINE DROUIN) in the first half.
The Black Ferns hit back in the 2nd half . MANAIA NUKU & KELSEY TENETI scored back to back converted tries to get them in front.
Those 2 tries were enough at the end to take win for New Zealand as they managed to keep France out towards the end of the game.
Seventh-place play-off
Fiji 5 - 26 Canada
Canada got off to a solid start as they had all the say of the ball in the first half with two tries to show for it.
Fiji got in close but a massive defensive effort from the Canadian Captain and try scorer OLIVIA APPS sees them being kept out with 2 scores.
ILISAPECI DELAIWAU scores a run away try for the Fijians but the Canadians refused take the foot off the pedal as they scored a couple more to close out the game.
Cup semifinals
Australia 24 - 7 United States
The opening minutes of the game was evenly contested as it took the hosts 6 minutes to finally break an unrelenting USA defense as ALYSIA LEFAU-FAKAOSILEA scored.
The Australians started to flex their home team muscle at the end of the first half when they started to dominate the physical contact situations and that led to another try this time by SHARNI SMALE.
After the restart DOMINIQUE DU TOIT scored a spectacular try by going inside out and stepping off the left foot.
The Eagles responded with a breakaway try by NAYA TAPPER but soon after KAITLIN SHAVE took it away from them.
Australia is off to the final
Ireland 31 - 7 Great Britain
The Irish got off to a flying start as LUCY MULHALL scored the first points of the game but Great Britain responded quickly through a ISLA NORMAN-BELL try.
The Irish got better as the game progressed and they outplayed GB in almost every aspect of the game as LUCY MULHALL played a captain’s knock, scoring a brace as she lead her team into the final at Perth.
Ninth-place play-off
South Africa 0 - 7 Brazil
In this tight contested encounter it was a singular try by GABRIELA LIMA who secured the victory for Brazil.
South Africa struggled throughout the match and looked like a shadow of the team that took care of Great Britain yesterday.
Brazil gets that all important series points.
Eleventh-place play-off
Spain 5 - 33 Japan
The Japanese got off to a solid start Spain struggled to put together a decent run of play in the first half. Japan recorded 4 tries in the first half as they dominated the affair with SAKURA MIZUTANI going in as the siren sounded for the break.
Spain struggled to get into the game with the Japanese line speed on defense suffocating them.
A couple of handling errors by Japan, stopped their momentum but HONOKA TSUTSUMI managed to get in for a 2nd try as her team effortlessly overcame the Spanish.
