Ray of hope for Strokosch
Scotland flank Alasdair Strokosch could feature again in this Six Nations despite breaking a bone near his eye during last week's opening defeat by England.
Strokosch is set to be sidelined for at least four weeks, meaning he will miss Saturday's match against Italy at Murrayfield and the visit of Ireland to Edinburgh on February 24.
But the loose forward, who plays his club rugby for French side Perpignan, could face Wales on March 9 and France the following weekend.
"Alasdair was seen by a specialist at the Spire Murrayfield Hospital this week and the injury was diagnosed as a fracture of the orbital floor (the area around the eye)," team doctor James Robson said.
"Alasdair is returning to his club in France and will be in their care.
"If he has no complications he should be available to return to action in four weeks' time," he added.
