Injuries cast doubts over Kings

The Kings - who started their build-up with a scratchy, come-from-behind 22-16 win over the SWD Eagles in George last Friday - will face the in-form Cheetahs in Port Elizabeth this Friday.

However, there are concerns over a few of their players, who suffered injuries against the Eagles at Outeniqua Park in George.

The Kings coach, Davids, said hooker Edgar Marutlulle had sustained a blow to the head, which resulted in a cut to the ear.

Prop Jacobie Adriaanse suffered a concussion in the clash against the SWD Eagles.

Davids added that lock Schalk Oelofse had also sustained a minor calf strain and was also being monitored.

The coach said he was "very happy" with the performance against SWD Eagles.

It had allowed the coching staff to focus on combinations, as well as improving the team's performance in the contact session against the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University the previous week.

However, he is well aware they will require to lift their performance considerably against the Cheetahs.
