Sharks lure Pienaar from Pretoria

Pienaar will head to Durban to join head coach Robert du Preez, backline and attack coach Sean Everitt and defence coach Ryan Strudwick - both of whom did duty with du Preez in the 2016 Super Rugby tournament.

"A lot of work has been done to strategise the way forward and we have assembled a skilled group of coaches, who bring continuity as well as great commitment to put in the hard yards to achieve the goals we have set ourselves.

"The majority of our coaching team have lived and played in KwaZulu Natal for many years, understand our unique culture and have worked with the young players in our team. We are four weeks into our pre-season programme and there is great energy and positivity amongst everyone," du Preez said.

Du Preez also confirmed that Paul Anthony together with Ricardo Loubscher will head-up the Sharks XVs Currie Cup qualifying campaign, which is set to get underway in early 2017.
