Highlanders star joins Sunwolves

The centre is one of three players to link up with the Sunwolves squad ahead of this year's Super Rugby tournament.

Emery made 34 appearances for the Highlanders between 2013 and 2017. He also has two caps for the Māori All Blacks.

The 24-year-old previously represented New Zealand Under-20 in 2012.

Ryuji Noguchi, from Tokai University, is the other new player in the squad, while Atsushi Sakate is back after his season with the Panasonic Wild Knights.

The Sunwolves open their campaign against the Brumbies in Tokyo on September 24.
