Bulls suffer Bok blow as Stormers await

The Pretoria-based franchise suffered an injury blow in the last match on their disastrous Australasian tour - which saw them lose to the Crusaders (14-34), Chiefs (28-41) and Reds (14-20).

They also lost (35-49) to the Lions before they went on tour.

The Bulls' Springbok lock Lodewyk de Jager suffered an injury in the loss to the Crusaders and is doubtful for the big north-south encounter with the Stormers at Loftus Versfeld this coming Saturday.

Scans revealed that De Jager has a Grade One calf strain and it is unlikely that he will be fit for this weekend's game.

Flyhalf Handrè Pollard sat out training on Monday, due to flu, but is expected to be fit to face the Stormers.

Bok prop Trevor Nyakane left the field against the Crusaders due to a concussion and has started his return to play protocols.

Nic De Jager and Rudolph Snyman are recovering well and are expected to return to training in three weeks.
