The team shows nine changes to the side that started against the Waratahs and one positional change – with Harold Vorster moving from outside to inside centre.

The only players who retained their positions from the starting XV in the win over the Waratahs last week are hooker Robbie Coetzee, lock Andries Ferreira, scrumhalf Ross Cronjé, wing Courtnall Skosan and captain Warren Whiteley.

Apart from Orie's debut, one of the most significant selections is young Shaun Reynolds starting at flyhalf in place of Springbok Elton Jantjies – one of several Boks who did not make the trip.

The other significant selection decision was to start with Seven Springbok Albertus Smith and Cyle Brink as the flanks – a hint that the Lions are planning to play a fast-paced game against a Jaguares team that prefers a full-fontal, physical contact approach. All change for Lions as Orie cracks a call-up
