Anxious wait for Lions' Bok prop

The SANZAR judicial hearing regarding Lions prop CJ van der Linde who was accused of biting has been adjourned in order to consider further evidence.

The World Cup-winning Springbok was cited after it was alleged that he bit Force player Toby Lynn at the back of a ruck, while the players were involved in a clean out in the 10th minute of their clash in Perth on Saturday.

The referee, Garratt Williamson of New Zealand, referred the incident to the citing commissioner by issuing a white card following a complaint by Force captain David Pocock.

Van der Linde pleaded not guilty to the charge and faces a lengthy ban if he is eventually found guilty.

The SANZAR judicial hearing held via video conference on Tuesday was heard by Paul Tully who decided to reconvene at a later stage in order to consider further evidence and hear closing submissions from the player’s counsel.
