Big Chief to stay on

Chiefs co-captain Craig Clarke has announced that he has re-signed with the Super Rugby franchise until the end of 2013.

In his fourth season with the side, the 28-year-lock described his reasons for staying with the Chiefs as pretty simple.

"I am having too much fun to go anywhere," Clarke said.

"This is a great environment to work and play in, and one that I am thoroughly enjoying - so why move."

Coach Dave Rennie gave the second row forward rave reviews.

"Craig is incredibly hard working with great values, so his re-signing is good news for us and the fans," Rennie said.

"Craig's professionalism, leadership and commitment, continue to make him a great asset to the Chiefs family."

Clarke is a former Hurricane, Crusader, 2002 New Zealand Under-19 and 2004 Under-21 (Junior All Blacks) World Cup winner.

He is the captain of Taranaki and picked up the Ranfurly Shield with his NPC side last year.
