Bulls may get some beef back

The Bulls, with an outside chance of sneaking into the play-offs, travel to Bloemfontein on Saturday to take on the Cheetahs.

Prop Lizo Gqoboka could be available for the trip to Bloemfontein, following the groin injury - suffered in Round 15 against the Jaguares - which ruled him out of last week's win over the Sunwolves.

"Lizo will start training with the team tomorrow [Tuesday]," Bulls team doctor Herman Rossouw said of Gqoboka.

"A final decision on his availability for selection will be made on Tuesday," he added.

Rossouw said the Bulls have lost no players to injury after the win over the Sunwolves.

However, lock Rudolph Snyman and Springbok prop Trevor Nyakane will remain on the sidelines.

Nyakane injured his ankle ligament while on duty with the Springboks in June.

Snyman returned from his stint with the South African A team with an ankle injury.

The doctor said loose forward Roelof Smit required another medical procedure on the eye he injured in the match against the Jaguares in Round 15 and is still not available for selection.

Deon Stegmann is also still sidelined with toe fracture.

Bok back Bjorn Basson (hamstring injury), lock Grant Hattingh (knee injury), Bok loose forward Jacques Potgieter (knee injury), back Warrick Gelant (knee ligament injury), Springbok flyhalf Handré Pollard (knee and shoulder surgery) and Bok midfielder Jan Serfontein (hand surgery) are all still sidelined.
