Chiefs to take show on the road

Newly crowned Super Rugby champions the Chiefs will celebrate their historic victory with a parade through central Hamilton on Monday.

The Hamilton-based team, who defeated the Sharks in Saturday's final at Waikato Stadium, will parade down Hamilton's Victoria Street, from 12.30pm on Monday.

The parade will start at Knox Street, and culminate in Garden Place, with an official city congratulations to the team. The parade down Victoria Street will be under the control of rolling police road closure.

"The well wishes the Chiefs team received ahead of the final from all corners of the world was overwhelming," said Chiefs' co-captain Craig Clarke.

"We would just like to thank everyone for their support and those who attended the game last night, it was bloody brilliant."
