Lions' Bok to fight SANZAR citing

The Lions' Springbok prop, CJ van der Linde, will contest the claims that he bit Western Force lock Toby Lynn in their Super Rugby match at the weekend.

Van der Linde has been charged to appear before a SANZAR judicial hearing on Tuesday, after he was cited at the weekend - following the match, won 17-11 by the Force, in Perth.

The referee, Garratt Williamson, referred the incident to the citing commissioner by issuing a white card, following a complaint by Force captain David Pocock.

However, the World Cup-winning prop has indicated that he will contest the claims that he bit his opponent.

SANZAR judicial officer Mike Heron considered the citing and decided Van der Linde will appear at a SANZAR hearing.

Van der Linde is alleged to have contravened Law 10.4 (m): Acts contrary to good sportsmanship - having allegedly bitten the Force lock, Lynn, at the back of a ruck while Lynn had him in a head-clamp.

The incident occurred in the 10th minute of the match.

The judicial officer for the hearing will be Paul Tully and the hearing will be held by video conference on Tuesday.
