Lions bring in Tshituka's replacement

SQUAD UPDATE: The Lions have confirmed that Vincent Tshituka will see a surgeon on Monday to determine the extent of his ankle injury.

Tshituka picked up the injury during his team's 17-29 defeat to the Waratahs on Saturday.

Ruan Vermaak is set to join the Lions in Melbourne on Sunday to replace Tshituka for the remainder of the tour.

In other injury news, the Lions revealed that Roelof Smit sustained a quad injury during training back in South Africa.

Meanwhile, Lions head coach Ivan van Rooyen said his team will have a long look at their latest performance ahead of their next clash against the Melbourne Rebels.

"The Waratahs really played well, so congrats to them. I think for us it just our decision-making under pressure. We will have a good review of the game, and we got to learn quickly," said Van Rooyen.

He added: "There [Waratahs] precision was impressive. We did expect a fiery start from them, and we were both under pressure, but their precision was good."
