Lions reveal squad for Jaguares clash
SQUAD ANNOUNCEMENT: The Lions have revealed a 25-man squad for their Super Rugby opener against the Jaguares in Buenos Aires on Saturday.
The squad consists of 15 forwards and 10 backs.
The notable exclusion from the squad is Wandisile Simelane, while fullback Andries Coetzee was also left out of the touring squad after returning from Japan.
Meanwhile, Springbok prop Jannie du Plessis is set to make his first Super Rugby appearance since 2015.
It's a tough opening fixture for Ivan van Rooyen's side. The Jaguares are loaded with Test players, who helped the Argentinian side to the Super Rugby Final in 2019.
The Lions finished in ninth place in the overall standings in 2019.
