No Shark-twin special treatment

However, the father in him remains immensely proud of his children's achievements but added that they are professional enough to separate family time with getting down to business.

"As a father, it is a privilege to coach them [Daniel and Jean-Luc] at this level. I am very proud of them and they keeping their feet on the ground but there is still a lot of hard work that lies ahead.

"It has been good being here [at the Sharks] and there will always be questions around the kids being in the setup but I don't give them any special treatment and they know that. They professional enough to know and understand that," du Preez said.

The twins have been outstanding for the Sharks this year, especially on defence. However, the Sharks have been lacking in the attacking side of the game and du Preez feels that they will need to sharpen up in that department if they are to make the play-offs.

"We are happy with where we are [as a team] at the moment. The game against the Hurricanes was a turning point for us and it was important for us to back that up with a win over the Jaguares in Argentina.

"We are well set and the guys are confident with the task at hand. It is one game at a time from now if we want to be in the play-offs and we will need to win every game.

"We never had the possession we would have like to have [against the Jaguares] and when we had opportunities, we never used them. Our defence has been outstanding but we need to get our attacking game right up there.

"We saw glimpses of that [against the Jaguares] and I feel that we certainly have the firepower to play a strong attacking game," he added.

Up next for the Sharks is a tricky home game against the unpredictable Southern Kings - a side du Preez won't be taking lightly.

"We are not taking the Kings for granted because they are improving every week. We will play our normal structured game and take the opportunities presented to us," he stated.
