VIDEO: Sharks to solidify their No.1 status
SUPER RUGBY REACTION: The Sharks’ winning streak has set the perfect platform for an enticing coastal derby against the Stormers this weekend.
The Sharks overtook the Stormers with an empathic 33-19 win over the Jaguares on Saturday.
The Durban side dominated the Round Six clash and outscored the Argentinean side four tries to three.
Sean Everitt’s men showed little signs of fatigue as they produced an impressive performance on the back of their gruelling four-week Australasia tour (securing three wins over Highlanders, Rebels and Reds).
Speaking to reporters after the win over Jaguares at Kings Park, head coach Everitt had huge praise for his players.
"Credit must go to the entire squad for how they handled themselves this week and the performance they put in.
"I think last week we were still in Brisbane, on Monday we were still in Joburg, we missed our connecting flight on Sunday night and we put on a performance like this – I’m incredibly proud of the guys
"Obviously there’s going to be fatigue somewhere. We left a couple of tries on the table. However, I’m just so happy we got the outcome."

The Sharks’ have enjoyed a very consistent season thus far, unlike previous years where struggled to produce consecutive wins.
For the Sharks, there is no room for complacency and this weekend they have a chance to finally solidify their No.1 status when they host the Stormers at Kings Park.
The Sharks are currently on top of the South African conference with 20 points, while the Stormers are hot on their heels with 17 points and a game in hand.
Therefore a win for the Sharks will give them some breathing space at the top of the table.
"I’m very happy with the consistency, that’s something that the players and the management spoke about.
"We were quite open about what we wanted to achieve, as far as that’s concerned.
He added: "The guys that put it in now for six weeks in a row, they’ve got to put it in for another two and then we’ll go on a break and then they have to go again."
