Steenkamp joins Force for SA tour

Former Bulls lock Wilhelm Steenkamp is one of the high-profile additions to the 28-man Western Force squad, named on Saturday for their two-match Super Rugby tour of South Africa.

Flank Angus Cottrell (ankle), fullback Dane Haylett-Petty (foot) and wing Luke Morahan (hamstring) are set to make their returns from injury and will travel to the Republic with the 23 players that featured in the 17-21 loss to the Rebels in Perth on Friday.

Steenkamp, who started off the bench in the previous Friday's match against the Brumbies, has also been selected in the Force tour squad.

He did not feature in the loss to the Rebels this past Friday.

Greater Sydney Rams prop Guy Millar will provide additional coverage in the front row, following South African prop Francois van Wyk's season-ending pectoral injury suffered against the Reds a fortnight ago.

Haylett-Petty has been absent from the Force line-up since their Week One win over the Waratahs, while Cottrell and Morahan sustained their injuries against the Reds and Brumbies respectively.

The Western Force departed Perth on Saturday and will take on the Bulls in Pretoria (Saturday, March 21) and the Sharks in Durban (Saturday, March 28).
