Todd happy in NZ despite All Blacks snub

Todd, 28, has only represented the All Blacks on three occasions since 2013. Despite being in good form for the Crusaders over the last few seasons, New Zealand head coach Steve Hansen has overlooked him for selection.

Since Richie McCaw's retirement after last year's World Cup, Hansen has preferred Sam Cane as his openside flank with Ardie Savea being fast tracked into the squad as cover.

"It is a tough team to make, that is why they are so successful," Todd told stuff.co.nz.

"There are a lot of good players that don't make it - you don't get too caught-up worrying about that, you just worry about the team you are playing for and that is the Crusaders at the moment.

"You can only give it your best shot."

Todd also has the option of furthering his career in Europe or going over to Japan - however, that is something he is not thinking about at the moment.

"But there is more that comes into it than just money," Todd added. "When my contract comes up (for renewal or otherwise) it is certainly something I will weigh up as well.

"I love playing for Crusaders and Canterbury, and have always lived in this area, so I enjoy it."
