UPDATE: Etzebeth could face Hurricanes

INJURY REPORT: Seasoned Springboks lock Eben Etzebeth could be available for Stormers' Round six match against the Hurricanes in Wellington on Saturday.

Etzebeth passed the first stage of the concussuon Test, which is certainly good news for the Stormers camp.

The 27-year-old was initially set to miss the Stormers' first game of their Australasian tour following a head knock he sustained during the bonus-point 35-8 win over Jaguares at Newlands on Friday.

Etzebeth failed his head impact assessment and didn’t feature in the second half.

Following the match, Stormers head coach Robbie Fleck was less optimist about the lock's availability - stating that he will probably be on the sidelines for the first game on tour.

However, after the Cape Town-based franchise's first training session in New Zealand, defence coach Norman Laker revealed that they have a fully fit 27-man squad - including Etzebeth - available for selection.

"Everybody so far is fit to play," Laker told the media, adding: "Eben passed his first test, so everyone is looking ready and confident.

"Obviously Eben has other protocols that he needs to pass, but we have an extra day this week because our game against the Jaguares was played on a Friday, so that gives Eben extra time to be ready. We are confident he will be fit to play on Saturday,"

The Stormers play the Hurricanes (in Wellington) this coming Saturday, followed by games against the Blues (Auckland), Reds (Brisbane) and Rebels (Melbourne).
