Bok star to undergo surgery
INJURY UPDATE: Springbok lock RG Snyman is set for another stint on the sidelines.
On Monday, Munster issued a squad update and they confirmed that their star lock suffered an injury in the World Cup Final against the All Blacks.
"RG Snyman suffered a chest/shoulder injury during the World Cup Final and will undergo surgery in South Africa this week," said a Munster statement.
A timeline for his return was not given.
Snyman is no stranger to big injuries over the last few seasons. In his time with Munster, he had two major knee surgeries.
After one of those lengthy lay-offs, he returned to the playing field earlier this year and helped Munster win the United Rugby Championship title before rejoining the Boks ahead of the international season.

Meanwhile, Tadhg Beirne, Dave Kilcoyne, Jeremy Loughman, Conor Murray and Peter O’Mahony have rejoined their Munster teammates following their World Cup involvement with Ireland.
On the injury front, Calvin Nash was withdrawn with a knee injury on Saturday and will be assessed by the medical team.
Simon Zebo (foot) and Josh Wycherley (neck) both return to full training this week and are available for selection.
The players that are continuing to rehab are Patrick Campbell (ankle), Roman Salanoa (knee), Mike Haley (hip), Cian Hurley (ankle/achilles), Niall Scannell (groin) and Andrew Conway (knee).
