Fourie given time to recover
NEWS: Deon Fourie is in a race against time to recover from an injured hamstring before the big United Rugby Championship semifinal in Cape Town on Saturday.
Stormers coach John Dobson revealed that Fourie felt the hamstring during the first half of the quarterfinal against the Bulls in Cape Town on Saturday and he was taken off the field in the 45th minute.
According to Dawie Snyman, backline and attack coach at the Stormers, Fourie will be given the week to see if he recovers in time.
“He has gone for scans and at this stage it looks quite positive. It is all about how he can recover from that. Hopefully he will be ok. We will give him the full week. Luckily everyone else is healthy, ” Snyman said.
However, Sevens Springbok Seabelo Senatla is still sidelined after he was involved in a car accident last week Thursday.
Senatla had just passed his return to play protocols and was poised to start the quarterfinal but was withdrawn from the team that faced the Bulls in the semifinal after the accident.
Snyman confirmed that Senatla has not recovered and would definitely not take part in the quarterfinal.
