Bok powerhouses sign on the dotted line for Sharks

SPOTLIGHT: Springboks Retshegofaditswe Nché and Mbongeni Mbonambi are the latest Sharks players to sign on the dotted line.

The 27-year-old Nché has extended his stay until the end of the 2025 season.

He joined the Sharks from the Cheetahs ahead of the 2020 Super Rugby season.

Meanwhile, Mbonambi has signed an extension which will see him stay until 2026.

The 32-year joined the Sharks from the Stormers in 2021.

Nche and Mbonambi are among several top Springboks at the Durban franchise and they are part of a powerful front row with Thomas du Toit.

Du Toit will be leaving the franchise for Bath at the end of this season.

Other Springboks to extend their stay with the Sharks in recent days include Curwin Bosch, Sikhumbuzo Notshe and Ntuthuko Mchunu.

Notshe has signed on for one more season, while Mchunu will be with the Sharks for another two years.

Last week it was revealed that flyhalf Curwin Bosch extended his stay until 2026.

Phendulani Buthelezi, James Venter and Marnus Potgieter have signed contract extensions as well.
