Veteran loose forward Deon Fourie spoke about their upcoming United Rugby Championship Round 13 clash against the Scarlets in an online press conference on Monday.

The Stormers are coming off a morale-boosting win against the Bulls at Loftus Versfeld on March 1, which boosted their URC play-off ambitions with six games to go.

Two of those six matches are away from home against Scarlets and Ulster respectively before the Capetonians go on a four-match home run.

Fourie however said that they will not put the cart in front of the horse - with their upcoming fixture against Scarlets being their only focus.

"We are targeting the match against Scarlets.

"We don't look at the whole tour if I can put it like that," Fourie said.

"If we can get that first win on tour it will take the monkey off our back against Ulster.

"All emphasis is on getting the win in the first game."

Stormers attack coach Dawie Snyman backed up Fourie's comments.

"We can't get too far ahead of ourselves, we have to focus on the game on Saturday," Snyman told @rugby365com.

"Last year we were in the same position where we had to beat Connacht and the Dragons away which we managed to do.

"First thing is Scarlets, and then we'll worry about Ulster before we get to our home games."
