Confident 'Drom' motivated for more

The guys from Dromedaris - at the University of Johannesburg - are confident and motivated to end their 2009 Steinhoff Koshuisrugby Championships league campaign with a win; a result that will see them finish top of the log in the Northern section.

According to scrumhalf Matilda Jacobsz "this week's practice was the best we've had this year" ahead of Monday's clash with Over de Voor, from Pukke.

Jacobsz added: "The guys know how important this competition is and are very excited and positive to play on Monday.

"We will be very cautious because we know that they will come out all guns blazing. They are also playing for a spot at the top of the log. But this will simply motivate us more."

Dromedaris have not made a lot of changes this week. However, the changes made were forced because "a lot of guys are writing semester tests on Monday and Remskoen Daniel is out with an injury".

Monday afternoon's match against Over de Voor will kick-off at 2.50pm at the Fanie du Toit Sports Grounds in Pothefstroom.

It is, of course, the curtain-raiser to the Varsity Cup match between Pukke and the Ikey Tigers - a crucial game in terms of home semifinal qualification for both sides in the 2009 FNB Varsity Cup presented by Steinhoff International.

* 'Drom' are unbeaten this year, having beaten Monitor (TUT) 35-25 and Maroela (Tuks) 30-15 thus far, whilst Over de Voor went down to Maroela (10-26), before beating Monitor 34-18 last Monday.

A convincing win over Dromedaris could see 'Overs' top the North log - but if they lose to Dromedaris, and Maroela beat Monitor, then Over de Voor could miss out on the semifinals altogether.
