Vishuis, Heimat headline Kovsies clashes
A mouth-watering top-of-the-log clash will kick-start this weekend's action in the Kovsies' Steinhoff Koshuisliga.
Vishuis (pictured - first on the log) have won their last three matches, after a shaky beginning, and they will lock horns with Heimat (second on the log) on Thursday night.
Both teams secured victories over their Puk counterparts in the massive Intervarsity battles from last weekend! (JBM was the only other Kovsies team to come away with a win from Potchefstroom.)
JBM's 21-18 win over Overs, Puk's number one hostel team, will give them oodles of confidence for their encounter with Armentum at Shimla Park on Friday at 6.30pm.
Steinhoff Koshuisrugby champions, Armentum, gave JBM two big hidings last year, so there will be much more than log points up for stake. Speaking of which, only two log points separate them - a loss for Armentum (14), however, will see JBM (16) extend that margin even further.
Also on Friday - at 8pm at Shimla Park - the two teams propping up the log, Karee and Veritas, have an equally important battle on hand.
Veritas simply have to win all their remaining six matches should they still want to challenge for a place in the final. Only the top two teams on the log qualify for the Cup Final, while number three and four play in the Plate Final.
For Karee (seven log points) this is also a match of high importance to stay in touch.
