Pieterse in charge for Varsity Cup 'derby'
FNB TUT flyhalf Werner Pieterse will lead his team into battle against Tuks this weekend in a Carlton League fixture doubling up as a Varsity Cup derby game.
Tuks are currently in top spot on the Carlton League log and have been in fine form since losing in the semifinals of the 2009 FNB Varsity Cup presented by Steinhoff International to eventual winners, Stellenbosch.
Just last week Tuks smashed Brits 99-5, whilst TUT also recorded a good win - beating Harlequins 29-16.
The Men from Tukkies have lost just once this season - to Polisie - and have 32 log points from seven games, with TUT having suffered two losses and finding themselves eight points adrift of the log leaders in third position.
TUT, of course, had a very disappointing 2009 Varsity Cup campaign.
They were unable to pick up a win, but a victory over Tuks this weekend will more than make up for it - especially with two promotion/relegation matches (to decide their Varsity Cup future in 2010) still to be played this year.
