Tuks ready for Brits clash
FNB Tuks have announced their starting line-up ahead of Saturday afternoon's Carlton League game against Brits, with lock Johan de Bruin set to captain the students.
Tuks - who lost in the semifinals of the 2008 and 2009 Varsity Cup - are in fine form in the Carlton League, having suffered just one defeat thus far.
The Men from Pretoria top the log after six rounds of action and confirmed their place at the top of the standings with a comprehensive 45-11 win over the third-placed Naka Bulle last weekend.
Brits are next in wait for the rampant Tuks, with the former in seventh place on the standings and boasting just one win from six starts thus far.
One would, of course, normally expect Tuks to win this encounter - but they can take nothing for granted in this tough league, especially with Polisie breathing down their necks in second position and just two points adrift.
The Tuks team: 15 Fanie Booysen, 14 Hein Pretorius, 13 Gerrit Smit, 12 Bennie Bester, 11 Pieter Gothan, 10 Stanley Twiname, 9 Wesleigh Marais, 8 Quinten Skewes, 7 Louis van Biljon, 6 Juan Palm, 5 Erich van der Westhuizen, 4 Johan de Bruin (captain), 3 Danie Oosthuizen, 2 Kurt Haupt, 1 Ettienne Breytenbach.
Replacements: 16 Chris Crous, 17 Jacques Botha, 18 Peet Botma, 19 AJ Prinsloo, 20 Danie Crous, 21 Louis Boshoff, 22 Gert Lubbe.
Kick-off: Saturday, May 16 - 4pm
