Russia get home start in RWC decider

Russia will look to post a convincing victory over Uruguay in the first leg of their 2015 World Cup play-off in Siberia to give themselves a chance of securing a return trip the finals.

The Russians - who made their debut at the 2011 tournament - edged out Zimbabwe in the repechage semifinals and will host Uruguay, who have appeared at two World Cups, in Krasnoyarsk on September 27 with the return leg in Montevideo on October 11.

The first leg will be refereed by George Clancy of Ireland, while France's Romain Poite will take charge of the second leg.

A place in Pool A is the prize for the winners.

Waiting for them in a very tough pool will be hosts and 2003 champions England, two-time former champions Australia, two-time semifinalists Wales and 2007 quarterfinalists Fiji.
